We were in search of the perfect backpack and made the mistake of going to the mall the Friday night of tax-free weekend. It was crazy and in the end, we couldn't find the backpack. That night, we went to dinner and while waiting for our food, I ordered the backpack AND matching lunchbox online.
And to kick off the year, I treated Jenna to breakfast at her (and my) favorite breakfast place. We both love getting breakfast here and our favorite order is a cinnamon crunch bagel, toasted with honey walnut cream cheese. It was delicious (I've noticed many of my posts surround food...hmmmm...)
I think it's going to be a great year. Her teacher is nice and teaches math which is her best subject along with reading. This year she'll switch classes with everyone from her home room. It's going to be an interesting year. We are still praying about Jenna traveling to China. 2 weeks out of 4th grade is a lot. But traveling to a foreign country to pick up your little sister in an orphanage is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Pray with us on that...

Aunt Sandra, why don't you see if the school will give her credit for the time out, if she does a full report on China with visual aids to present to her class. And that is such a long plane ride, I sure you will be able to make a hefty dent in any work she is allowed to take with her. 4th grade won't effect her education down the line, with college and such, but I very vividly remember going to get Alex and bring her home, even though I was not quiet 4.
