Alright Facebook and blog readers. It's a call for help from the Taylor household.
This year, we went out and bought the most beautiful live Christmas tree. It's a Frasier Fir about 7-8 feet tall and perfectly shaped. We bought it Thanksgiving weekend.
And it's dying.
Yes, we water it. Twice a day actually. When we brought it home, I searched the internet for the best way to keep the tree alive. We did everything we read. Watered it frequently (it's never been dry), kept it away from the heating vents, turned off the lights at night etc.
But the stupid, beautiful tree is still dying. And it's dying at an alarming rate. Like I don't know that we will have anything left at Christmas, which is still more than 2 weeks away.
I'm not going through this again. I am on the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree. And I might just have to find it before Christmas this year. So, I'm here to ask you all where the best place is to get a tree. Here's what we are looking for:
7-8 feet tall
Green, no flocking or colors
Pre-lit, preferably white lights
Frasier fir or something similar...we like FULL trees
Something that will last more than 2 years
A nicely shaped tree
Preferably something less than $1000
OK, the last one is a little overblown. We'd like something for about $200-300, but the trees meeting my description above that I've found online are running $500-600. I did find the perfect tree...it's beautiful online...and it even has a stand in a bag so when Christmas is over, you just stand up the tree in the bag stand and zip the bag up over it and store it standing up. This, my friends, is Steve's dream of a tree. However, it is about $560. For that much, the tree better last for 20 years. But maybe it's supposed to. Maybe it's time we invest in something that will last. That just seems like an awful lot...but the shipping is free. Somehow that doesn't seem to help.
So, dear readers, tell me your secrets. Where can I find the best artificial, pre-lit, beautifully shaped Christmas tree without spending a fortune (remember, Steve is only temporarily employed at the moment...)
Oh, and while you're thinking, send up a quick prayer from my friend Katelyn. She's flying to Las Vegas (to see Garth!) today and will be coming in Sunday...safe travels...

Try Home Depot or Lowe's maybe. They would likely be the only places that have any left at this time of year. Sorry you're having to deal with that!
Sorry, can't help you with where to look, but it sounds like you will have an awesome tree. We went artificial for the first time last year, and I love the fact that we don't have to clean up the needles!
