We have been home 6 mos and she still wakes up multiple times crying out (like a nightmare) every night. Sometimes its 2 times, sometimes 4-6 times. It is CRAZY.

I have no answers. We had her on the ground in our room until 2 weeks ago. She still woke up 4-6 times a night. I would soothe her from my bed (reaching down to pat her)

Dr's told me to get her to fall asleep on her own and night waking would stop.

So we let her cry it out last week. Only took 2 nights and she was / is still falling alseep on her own, without us in the room. She still wakes up 2-5 times during the night. The Dr told us to let her self soothe herself back to sleep and to not go in, she will eventually stop getting up. I am not so sure. That is what we are doing for now.

She only cries for like 5-10 mins at night when she does wake up so we have been leaving her in her room all night. It is really hard but it is just as hard to have her in my room waking up all night long and I think she actually stayed up longer when we were in the room.

And I don't think this is a sleep training thing. I think its an adoption thing.

I honestly was not prepared for a child with a sleep disorder. That is what we have on our hands, if you ask me. Other adoptive parents seem to have this mastered but we do not.

praying for you guys toO!Lillie Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14963676070021383896noreply@blogger.com
